Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has won 21 titles at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to win a title is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an improved service.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The pair traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent rescued four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
